Guelph-based green builder recognized for being a changemaker in the Ontario building industry and advancing energy efficiency in new home construction
Terra View Homes is proud to announce that they have been named the recipient of the 2020 EnerQuality ENERGY STAR® for New Homes — Small/Custom Builder award and have been named a Net Zero Builder award finalist.
Founded by the Ontario Home Builders’ Association and the Canadian Energy Efficiency Alliance, EnerQuality is the number one certifier of energy efficient housing in Canada and the market leader in residential green building programs.
The EnerQuality Awards celebrate industry leaders who have proven to be successful in transforming the Ontario housing market into the most energy efficient and sustainable in the world. Celebrating a legacy of Better Built Homes™, this year’s awards program recognizes the significant contributions made by the building industry during the extraordinary circumstances brought on by the global pandemic, and the individuals and companies that are making a social and environmental impact.
As the recipient and finalist of these two awards, Terra View Homes is being recognized for the lasting and positive impact it is making for the sustainability of Ontario communities — specifically its commitment to the ENERGY STAR New Homes program and use of innovative technologies to build Net Zero and Net Zero Ready homes.
For almost three decades, Terra View Homes has been pioneering green home building practices in Canada. One of the first area home builders to build exclusively ENERGY STAR homes beginning in 2006, the green builder incorporates the key elements of ENERGY STAR in every new home they build. Terra View Homes is also proudly building the first complete Net Zero Ready communities in Guelph at the Hart Village and NiMa Trails developments.

Since embracing the ENERGY STAR program, Terra View Homes has committed to building and labelling their custom homes as ENERGY STAR accredited. Further, the builder participates in the CHBA Net Zero Home Labelling Program, demonstrating its commitment to advancing Net Zero Energy (NZE) housing.
In 2019, Terra View built 33 ENERGY STAR certified new homes in Ontario with a commitment to energy efficiency improvements beyond the ESNH Standard. The builder has achieved completion on 42 Net Zero Ready homes to date.
Terra View Homes is an active promoter of ENERGY STAR Canada, NZE housing and green building practices and has been the recipient of a number of awards related to sustainability in the company’s almost 30 year history.
